Miguel holds a BSc in Physics and an MSc in Industrial Mathematics from the University of Santiago de Compostela. Since 2024, he has been working on mathematical and computational approaches to prostate cancer. He started his research career at the Health Research Institute of Santiago de Compostela (IDIS), developing and calibrating personalised biomechanistic models for radiotherapy. He later joined the University of A Coruña, where he has worked on Bayesian approaches to tumour growth and treatment response, biomarker analysis, and computational model validation.
He is currently pursuing his PhD under the supervision of Dr. Guillermo Lorenzo, working on digital twins of tumour progression with a focus on personalised prostate cancer modelling. His research interests include mathematical oncology, computational modelling, Bayesian inference, and numerical methods. Aside from research, Miguel enjoys cooking, reading and pretending he can play tennis.
